This article explains how to add Text to Speech for a student for a specific assignment. Read 'Activating Text to Speech by Student' to learn how administrators can add text to speech by student for all assignments.
1. Login to your Pathways account through Clever, ClassLink, or at k12els.com.
2. Navigate to Pathways to Proficiency -> Measures -> Assignments.

3. Locate the assignment of the assessment for which you wish to add text to speech, and select the folder icon to the left of the assessment date. If the folder icon is not present, this means a district level administrator has made the assessment private.

4. Locate the student for which you wish to add text to speech, and select the pencil icon to the left of the student ID.

5. Select the toggle beside 'Question text-to-speech' and/or 'Passage text-to-speech' according to which text to speech functionalities you would like to add. Please note that the MAAP test does not allow passages to be read out loud.

6. Once you have added text-to-speech for a student, there will be a sound icon to the left of their Student ID.
