Pathways Assessment: Privacy Levels

Modified on Thu, 26 Mar at 12:01 PM

Assessment privacy levels allow users to control the visibility and security of an assessment. Choosing the correct permission level ensures the assessment remains secure while providing teachers with the data they need at the appropriate time.

** Note: It is crucial to change the assessment to 'Public' status when teachers are ready to analyze the data and initiate subsequent instruction, like the Student Review worksheet.

Detailed Permission Definitions

  • Private from All: This status allows only district-level users to have access to the assessment and create assignments. When the assessment is Private from All, it cannot be viewed, assigned, or managed by school-level administrators or teachers. Typically, districts initially choose this status until they are ready to assign assessments.
  • Private from Teachers: This status keeps the assessment hidden from teachers but allows school-level administrators to view and assign the assessment. In this scenario, teachers can view the assignment created in their name, but they cannot manage the assignment or view the assessment. This status is often chosen when the assessment is being administered at the school level.

  • Private from All (Assign Only): This status allows both school-level administrators and teachers to assign the assessment, but it keeps the assessment items and answer key hidden from them. School-level administrators and teachers cannot open the assignment or view the assessment until the status has been changed to ‘Public.’ However, school-level administrators and teachers can close the assignment and publish the assessment results to reporting.
  • Public: This status allows all users to view and assign the assessment, manage assignments, view items in reports, and create student reviews.
