Pathfinder FAQ

Why does comparing expected vs. actual results when analyzing test data offer a more comprehensive perspective than just examining the individual growth data of each student? The crucial distinction lies in recognizing that different students may have varying levels of expected growth based on their starting points. This is why Pathfinder uses baseline (previous year’s) performance levels to calculate expectations for each student.

Why can’t I see my students in Student Tracker? It is possible that you are not seeing data for students because you are not connected to your schedule file and/or have not been added to a custom student group. You will need to contact your administrator or the Pathfinder support team to resolve this issue.

How can I view State Test results from students I taught last year? Navigate to Pathfinder and click State Test Results. At the top of the screen, switch the year to the year before the current one to view the results for students you taught last year. Navigate to “Student Data” in the sidebar to see specific student results. For more information, view Viewing State Assessment Results for Last Year’s Classroom.

Why don’t I see a Baseline Score for my students? If you do not see a baseline score for your students, it is likely that you are viewing a subject that was not tested the year before - for example, US history,  high school biology, or any 3rd grade test would not have baseline scores. Another possibility is that the Pathfinder team didn’t receive past state test data for a particular student. If you suspect there is an issue with state assessment data upload, contact Pathfinder Support or your school’s administrator.
