Why Pathways to Proficiency?

Pathways to Proficiency was created with the recognition that assessment should be positioned as the beginning of a learning process, not the end. Our comprehensive assessment reports and subsequent review materials provide detailed insight at the student level, prompting targeted and individualized growth in the classroom.

  • Targeted Instruction: Identifying specific standards, item types, or learning objectives that students are struggling with allows for more precise and effective teaching. Teachers can tailor their instruction to address a classroom's specific needs.
  • Individualized Learning: Student-level insights enable a more personalized approach to education. Using Pathways reports, teachers can work with each student to address their unique strengths and weaknesses.
  • Resource Provision: Educators are provided with valuable tools to help students succeed. These tools include specialized online and printed review worksheets, standard-based lesson planning resources, and a wide array of practice items for each subject area, strand, and standard.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: The data collected from assessments can inform school-wide or district-wide decision-making, helping to identify trends, areas for improvement, and the overall efficacy of curriculum and instruction.
